Its outstanding services include exclusive previews and tips, runners and rider’s info, non-runners, live local odds, in-running numbers, distance to go and full results.

Project Intro

GBI Racing launched as a joint venture company between Racing TV and At The Races on March 1, 2010, and is the sole rights holder for the distribution of British & Irish racing to overseas retail betting outlets and online operators.  Being in an ever-competitive market, they were looking to best make use of the data available to them.

Key goals

Architecture

architecture

Horseracing data

  • A data structure was built to hold the racing information. All the pertinent historical information, back to 2010, was gathered from PA (Press Association) and imported. An endpoint to receive feeds from PA was built, and the processed feeds received from PA are stored in a Horse Racing Database. Tableau is used as a data manipulation tool to build statistical models and reports in order to mine the data.

Streaming data

  • The streaming historical data and streaming feeds are imported into a data store. Using a similar approach to the Racing Database, the data is manipulated through Tableau to build data models and reports.

Revenue

  • A platform was built to centralize all revenue data received from the partners from all around the globe and to improve previous workflows.

Highlights
